Yep, it's been another LONG time since you last heard from me...and tough shit to those who were glad I was gone.
So here I am again...with two new 60-second MP3s!
One, I have encapsulated my love of beer in a song. It's called Beer.
Two, I love monster movies. Death and destruction are a lot of fun in a creative work, but obviously not in reality. So, somewhat in the spirit of Godzilla, Cloverfield and Honey I Blew Up The Kid, I present my own humble epic, The Baby That Ate Detroit.
You may be asking, why Detroit? Why pick on Detroit?
First of all, I'm not picking on Detroit...I have nothing negative at all to say about Detroit, either in the song or personally...except the Red Wings...and I'm kidding about the Red Wings because it's a sports rivalry.
Second, Detroit is two syllables (St. Louis is three), fits perfectly in the song, rhymes with a helluva lot more words and concepts in the song than New York (or St. Louis for that matter), and hasn't been destroyed like New York in at least four Roland Emmerich movies. Besides, Kalamazoo and Alberquerque are way too many syllables.
And third, Detroit's REALLY hurting from the current recession and I figured they could use a good laugh. Plus, it's always interesting to see, hear or read about your town getting destroyed in a movie or a book... and now, in a song. Remember what I stated earlier about death and destruction being a lot of fun in a creative work? If you don't believe me, go ask those who go apeshit over zombie movies.
And I'm still offering Happy Freakin' Birthday as a FREE song. Use it to entertain friends and family...or piss off those you don't like. You can either get it from the Music page here or from my MySpace or Circuit pages.
Also, for those of you who go apeshit over zombie movies, don't forget to check out both Zombie Boogie and the Friends link below to All Zombie.com, a website that covers anything and everything about zombies.
Otherwise, I'll just simply reiterate that 9th St. Goo and Call Me Screwy are still also available online at iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, eMusic, Napster, LaLa and Shockhound, and links to those sites' pages can be found on the Music page. I will continue to put up 60-second MP3s of all tunes unless I die by asphyxiation from the drool of The Baby That Ate Detroit, so check back here to see if anything grabs you by the ears, and throws you in the path of shoppers looking for After-Christmas discounts.
So, what do you think? I'd like to hear from you. Email me. screwy@screwyfromstlouie.com Also, I wanted to let you know that this site is not for the kiddies. I will continue to add more ridiculous crap for your amusement at some point in the future. Cheers!
